My Very First Blcklst.com Post

By their own definition, “The Black List is where moviemakers find great scripts to make and scripts find moviemakers to make them.”  Located atPHOTO LNHN on BlackList-Recently Added www.blcklst.com, it’s a site that seeks to connect unrepresented writers to producers looking for scripts.  As a writer you create an account, upload your script (for $25/month) and fill in an extensive profile on the script to help producers find it by topic, genre or any number of other parameters.  The full story on how they came about is here.  So I’ve uploaded Love Not, Hurt Not and how it looks when it is listed is to the right.

I’ve also ordered a professional read.  The cost is $50 and we’ll see if it’s helpful enough. Because the other side of the site is that it uses the reads to promote to the 1500+ producers that are on the site.  It’s not as simple as a good read = total promotion, there is an “algorithm” involved to prevent system abuse.  But it’s intriguing and I’ve talked to several producers who are using it.

More on my experience as I know it.

Have you listed?  Was your experience beneficial?
